The John Bond-Smith owned Lotus 23B at Castle Combe in 1967.
Andrew's father Doug looked
after all of the
Bond-Smith race cars in the 1960s. Previous cars included a Cortina GT, Lotus Elan and an ex-Holman & Moody 7-litre Ford
Galaxie 500, all raced by John's
wife Jacquie, pictured here with her sister Joey
who also drove the car on occasion. At 7 years old, Andrew recalls the time he was 'put' into
the car to steer, as it was pushed down the hill at Brands to scrutineering, only to steer
it into a scaffolding post that held the old paddock shelters up in those days!
