A pen and ink study of Will Hoy in his Chamberlain Engineering 'Reid Wines'
Clubmans Mallock U2 Mk24 in 1984.
Presented to Will by the Silverstone lady marshals in 1984. In the 1970s and early 80s,
the Silverstone lady marshals at driver signing-on, would choose their 'dish of the day' and the
winner
at each meeting would carry a 'dish of the day' sticker on his car. At the end of the year, six
finalists would be chosen and they were each presented with an Andrew Kitson pen and ink
drawing of their car at the BRDC finals meeting. The winner would also be treated to dinner with
the ladies!
Andrew produced these drawings from 1983 - 1986. The recipients included Johnny Dumfries,
Tony Pond, Jon Dooley, Mauricio Sandro-Sala, David Leslie, John Village, Mark
Goddard, Andy
Wallace and Richard Belcher.
