'Mallory Park 1972'

Andrew went to many varied meetings with his father in the 1960s & 70s, either those where his
father was working as a mechanic or others just to spectate. Favourites were the British Grand Prix meetings at Silverstone and Brands Hatch, F2 races at Crystal Palace, Mallory Park and Thruxton, long distance sportscar events, F5000 and Formula Atlantic races, international saloon car meetings and many club meetings.

This is the F2 international at Mallory Park in March 1972, taken from the front cover of 'Autosport' magazine. Andrew's father can be seen in the crowd holding his programme (above 'ck' in the word 'shock' on the Girling sign) with Andrew and his younger brother Ian to his left. Ian has also developed a great interest in the sport, doing some kart racing in the mid-70s and taking after his father as a 'weekend' race mechanic in the Caterham Eurocup in recent years.
