Andrew Kitson was born in Cambridge, England in 1959. His interest in motor sport has developed from a lifelong involvement, as his father was a racing mechanic in
the 1960s & 70s. The art class was his favourite subject in school leading to a career as a technical illustrator, working in the German car industry on 'expolded' and
'cut-away' drawings for maintenance manuals. Simultaneously, he was building his reputation as an automotive artist, with motor racing as the main subject. His skill as
a painter can be seen in all of his subject matter, not just his car work but also portraits, landscapes, aviation and wildlife.
