'The Race of Champions'

The Race of Champions at Brands Hatch was a traditional early season non-championship
Formula 1 race. In the last running of the race in 1983, the crowd were treated to a fantastic duel between reigning world champion Keke Rosberg in his Williams and Danny Sullivan's Benetton sponsored Tyrrell. Rosberg just held on to win despite a blistered rear tyre.
Danny went on to win the Indy 500 in 1985.

Commissioned by Danny Sullivan's wife as a birthday gift for him and on display in their
home in the south of France. Painted in acrylics on board, 24 x 18in (61 x 45cm)
