In 1968 and '69, Andrew's father Doug Kitson was the mechanic on Stan Matthews' Ford Anglia
shown at the top of this montage. Stan then went into single
seaters, starting in Formula Ford at
the Snetterton based Jim Russell
racing drivers
school. JRRDS also entered him in the
F100 sports car Championship before he progressed through Formula Ford to F3
and Formula Atlantic. Stan retired from driving in 1973 and now gets his thrills on his Honda Fireblade on the roads around his home in South Africa.
