In 1977 on race weekends, Andrew helped South African Trevor Van Rooyen with his Formula Ford Royale RP24, doing the odd jobs and assisting Trevor and mechanic Chris Bailey. Trevor won the RAC FF Championship but missed out on the Silverstone based 'Brush Fusegear' title by only one point to Nigel Mansell. However he still won 33 races during the year. Here he leads arch rival Chico Serra in his works Van Diemen at Oulton Park. A terrific season working with Trevor and his wife Lynne, Chris and Royale designer Rory Byrne, who went on to greater things designing all of
Michael Schumacher's Benetton and Ferrari F1 cars.
