At 15 years of age Andrew worked with a local F5000 team to his former home near Huntingdon in 1974. Fetching and carrying, making the tea, polishing the car and any other odd jobs!
Nick Wattiez was not a particularly quick driver although he did win a few 'clubbie' Formula Libre races with this
ex-Guy Edwards Lola T330. The mechanic was Malcolm Malone, an ex-works Lola mechanic who had worked on Mike Hailwood's and Frank Gardner's cars. The Nick Wattiez Racing workshop
was in St.Neots, on a site now re-developed and this was only 50 yards away from
Andrew's former studio before he moved to Norfolk.
