'Michigan 500'

 

Rick Mears winning the 1991 'Marlboro 500' on the high speed Michigan Speedway. In his Marlboro Team Penske PC20-Chevrolet he averaged 167mph during the 3-hour race.

'Little Al'

 

Al Unser Jr. winning the 1990 'Molson Indy' in Exhibition Place in Toronto, Canada. He tamed the wet conditions to emerge victorious in his Galles-KRACO Racing Lola T90/00 Ilmor-Chevrolet.

'The Greatest Victory'

 

Jim Clark making history with victory in the 1965 Indy 500. In his works Lotus 38, powered by a Ford V8 he set a new fastest speed, the first win for Ford and the first win for a rear engined car at the Brickyard.

The director of the Henry Ford museum made the presentation on behalf of the Ford Motor Co., at Pebble Beach in 2010. It was Dan Gurney who was instrumental in persuading Colin Chapman of Lotus to build an Indycar.

'Alonso leads at Indy'

 

At his first attempt, Formula One star Fernando Alonso came close to winning the 2017 Indy 500 in his McLaren backed Andretti Autosport car. Sadly with just 20-laps to go his Honda engine expired. The Spaniard attracted legions of new fans to the amazing spectacle of Indycar racing at the Brickyard.

'Emmo's 500 1989'

 

Brazilian Emerson Fittipaldi winning the 1989 Indy 500 in a dramatic finish! A wheel-to-wheel duel ended with a lap to go when Al Unser Jr. spun out after the pair touched wheels. 'Emmo' was a popular victor in his Patrick Racing Penske PC18-Chevrolet. The first foreign driver to win at the Brickyard since 1966.

Brazilian Emerson Fittipaldi winning the 1988 'Briggs and Stratton 200' at Road America in his Patrick Racing Lola-Chevrolet. Depicted exiting Thunder Valley on the Elkhart Lake circuit.

Michael Andretti dives down the Corkscrew in his Newman-Haas Racing Lola T91/00, to win the Toyota Monterey Grand Prix at Laguna Seca in California in 1991.

'JPM Champion 99'

 

Juan-Pablo Montoya heads for victory at Mid-Ohio in 1999 in his 'Target' Chip Ganassi Racing Reynard-Honda. He won the CART Championship in 1999 at his first attempt.    

 

Commissioned by Juan-Pablo, one of 17 individual paintings he commissioned to present to his Ganassi crew members.
