'Mosport M8D'

 

Dan Gurney won the first two races

of the 1970 Can-Am season, in the McLaren M8D-Chevrolet built for Bruce McLaren. Dan is depicted winning the first round at Mosport Park in Canada, just weeks after Bruce tragically lost his life testing

at Goodwood.

Colin Chapman in his Lotus Elite in the 1959 Sebring 12-hour race. About to be lapped by the winning Ferrari 250 TR59 of Phil Hill on the airfield circuit in Florida.

'Andretti F5000'

 

The final round of the 1975 SCCA -USAC Formula 5000 Championship was the Californian Grand Prix held

at Riverside. Mario Andretti won in

his Vel's Parnelli Jones Racing Lola T332-Chevrolet from team mate Al Unser, with Brian Redman third in a Lola T400.

Britons David Hobbs and Derek Bell

won the Pabst 500 IMSA Winston GT race at Road America in 1979. Their BMW 320i Turbo was built and entered by McLaren North America.

'Can-Am 1969'

 

New Zealander Bruce McLaren in his most successful McLaren Can-Am car. The M8B-Chevrolet was never beaten in the 1969 Canadian-American Challenge Cup, winning all eleven races. Bruce won six races to become Champion with compatriot and team mate Denny Hulme five points adrift, having won the other five events.
